Captain Rich has been in the scuba industry since 1975, when he became a PADI Instructor. He taught classes for the U.S.Navy, Police and Lifeguard Departments, as well as the general public. In 1987 after teaching thousands of divers, it was time to move on to something new and challenging, so with a partner and a dirt lot, built the dive boat Sundiver from the ground up. She is still the newest live-aboard style dive boat in the L.A. area. Tiring of the 2 1/2 to 3 hour crossings to Catalina, Rich joined up with Island Time, where the travel time is measured in minutes.
